North Carolina — Since 2007 there have been 4,132 tips of Human Trafficking reported in North Carolina resulting in 982 cases. Just last year there were 221 cases reported so you can see the issue is not shrinking. Over half of those cases were of US Citizens, 3/4 females and 1/3 is a minor. These are just the confirmed numbers but the problem is greater as each instance isn’t reported as with anything.
Below you will find a “heat map” of cases.
The United States — 162,000 reports of human trafficking since 2007, in 2016 alone there were 27 thousand reports resulting in 7,621 cases. In the South Eastern US there were 1,368 cases in 2016. Since 2007, 1/5 cases comes from the SE.
